the WALT for this week is: relate ideas to own experiences and wider world.

so for this week I chose the book “protecting the waterways.”

all the other books seemed very interesting to read but the title and description to this one stuck out to me and I also want to protect the waterways.

( I don’t know if I’ll be able to do create task 3 since I was away some days and my Chromebook was dead other days. 🥲 )

but anyway back to this , for create task 1 we had to do a flowchart , this time there was no other option of a journal story 😼 and we had to include facts from the journal story that we read.

and then for the book I chose there were 3 videos / articles we needed to watch or read , they were all about people protecting rivers and just explaining how much plastic and other items have been going into our rivers.

T3 WK 8 10/9/24

the WALT for the week is: relate ideas to own experiences and wider world.

it’s Tuesday and i only finished my first create task because yesterday , my Chromebook died right in my face.

but i did manage to finish my first create task.

the book i chose for this week is: my dad , the soccer star.

the reason i chose that one is because i like watching soccer and it looked like a great book to read based off the description , i recommend doing that book since it’s quite easy and fun to read.

for create task 1 , we had to do the same create tasks as last week and the week before that and before that. but it’s fine since it’s easier for me and for everyone else!

we had to choose from journal story and flowchart , this time i chose journal story since i knew there was a problem and a solution

here is a summary on the book if you haven’t read it yet!

it starts with a girl telling her dad she put him in soccer practice , she was trying to get him to do some exercise and tried to get him up from the couch. she was successful after some discussing and proving her point , she took her dad to buy some equipment and she was hopeful that he’d be very talented at soccer. but on the other hand , her dad was hesitant and tried making up excuses but she ended up making him train every single day , and so he got more productive. 

that’s my short summary for the book but there are probably some details I’ve missed but it will probably be there in my journal story for create task 1.

there were 3 videos / sites we had to either read or watch. they were about soccer and the rules. and i learned some facts to be honest so those videos were quite helpful.

T3 WK 8 11/9/24

the WALT for today and the rest of the week is: relate ideas to own experience and wider world.

for create task 2 this time I chose identify cause while I was choosing and reading what they meant and stuff I thought “OH MY GOSH” because when I saw it was to create a problem for a Paralympian I thought , you’re paralyzed , you can’t kick the ball. so that’s how I made up the problem and thought of a solution that probably wouldn’t really work you know.

and I did it on Canva like I always do since I’m familiar with it and I know how to work it.

reminder on the book I chose: my dad , the soccer star.

and I genuinely recommend reading that book since it was humorous and interesting for a child to read.

anyway here is the beautiful result since there isn’t much I can talk about since I said most of it in create task 1!

Math number line fractions T3 WK 8 Activity 2

the WALT for math’s this week is: make connections with fractions on a number line.

this week , i did fractions on a number line from 0-10 , today Pat is in a meeting so the people in Pats math class go to Mrs Lee for Math.

we learned that on a ruler or a number line there will be whole and extra decimals like , 1 whole and 2 tenths , the 2 tenths is the decimal of the number line basically , but that is the fraction version.

Mrs lee told us to go to the interactive white board and put in the number line and show where the fractions were , the fractions we had to show on the number line were , 8 and 6 tenths , 4 and 5 tenths , 7 and 7 tenths , 5 and 6 tenths and 2 and 3 tenths , i was able to finish in time and then she told us to blog!

this was quite easy since Pats group had learnt a lot about this already.

sports day – book choices – T3 WK 7 – create tasks!

the WALT for this week is: relate ideas to ow n experiences and wider world.

new week , new book!

for this week , there were different book choices than last week!

the book choices were:

sports day

hooked on hockey

my dad , the soccer star

giving it a shot

teamwork

rugby under wraps.

they all seem like very good books but i went for sports day since the description about it seemed very interesting!

the only bad thing was: after i chose that book and the teacher handed me the book , i realized i’d had already read that once , when reading with the teacher , along with the rest of the Turquoise group in Miss Ludemann’s class.

but i did it anyway , having more experience with the book 😝

so , for create task 1 , it still hasn’t changed since last week. we had to choose from using a journal story or a flowchart.

this time i chose the journal story! that’s because i actually found a problem in the story.

if you haven’t read sports day , you should since it’s a very good short book!

here is an extremely small summary for you!

there was a little girl who woke up knowing that day was sports day and she had to do softball , she thought she was bad and didn’t want to go. she ended up having to go and it was the time of the sport. she was supposed to catch the ball but this other girl from her team went to catch the ball since she thought the little girl wouldn’t . the main girl heard her dead grandpa’s voice and managed to catch the ball since she had hope.

and that’s the summary!

there were 3 sources we needed to go through to learn more about our topic.

we needed to prove we learned at least something through create tasks.

this week for create task 2 we had to choose a box ,  just like last week! so for this task , which is to design a uniform for that sport. it was kind of hard because i couldn’t find the specific clothes I wanted , but i worked it out!

anyway! in case you didn’t know what sport the book sports day was basically focusing on , its Soft Ball , I’ve personally never played that sport and didn’t really know much about it but after reading the book and watching the videos , i finally kind of know what it is. it’s kind of like Base Ball!😝

so , i made a uniform for soft ball! it kind of looks like it could be for Base Ball too, so don’t bully me pwease. 😼

i did this on canva because i find it easier to do stuff on there since its a source i’m familiar with. and it will stay that way for now 😸

the one i ended up choosing is : evaluate i chose this one because i read the story like 2 times and i learned all i needed to from the main character in the story which is Grace.

anyway , i would say it was fun to do and i recommend trying that create task if you haven’t yet.🥲

29/8/24 T3 WK 6

as you probably know , this week we had a task board since year 6’s have cycle safety! i was one of them but i’m in Kereru so i had cycle safety on Monday and Tuesday only. it is now Thursday!

and there was more than 1 task that we had to complete, the first thing i started was my athlete profile which is what i’m blogging!

these tasks are quite fun to do , some of them were , reading create tasks , vacation thing on math’s and some other stuff!

the task board has no WALT so , no WALT this time!

for the athlete profile , we had to press a link which would take us to some slides and we had to choose a sport and fill in the questions it asked us. some of the questions were like : does New Zealand play that sport and have they won any medals or what are some famous people who play. there were more questions but that was just 2 that i mentioned , and we had to make a uniform for the sport we chose and i chose Archery but i didn’t want to draw it or make it in shapes so i got a picture from google.

and we had to type what we would eat if we played that sport , we had to write what we would eat for breakfast , lunch , dinner and snacks, and yesterday i finished filling it out!

bobsleigh create tasks

this week i had cycle safety so i didn’t have that much time but today i tried to catch up and this is my create task 1!

on Monday and Tuesday i only had about 20-30 minutes to work on the task board and this morning i finished create task 1.

i chose bobsleigh this time because it looked interesting to be honest and my pookie ( Emersen ) chose bobsleigh too!

for create task 1 there were to options , flowchart or story map , i chose flowchart and i learnt something i should’ve already known. that the flowchart needs to go in chronological order. i thought it was just a facts but my friends told me that it’s not 🥲

the WALT for this week is : compare and contrast within and between texts.

so i’ll be very nice and kind of explain what bobsleigh is first , its a sport where a team of 2 or 4 go in this sleigh thing and it goes down a snowy hill very fastly and you kind of need to dodge stuff and yeah.

i tried putting the facts in chronological order ( the order i saw the facts in )

anyway here is the result!

i know the first fact is really short but yeah and these facts basically explain what the sport it.

so as you probably know , the book choices for last week and this week were sports since the Olympic events are happening this year and this time of year.

the WALT for this week is : compare and contrast within and between texts.

tomorrow year 5 and 6’s have the Winter Sport tournament! and i’m one of the people who are going to the tournament! i’m so excited!

anyway! this is my second create task!

this time for create task 2 there are more than 2 options , there are 6 and they are in order from easiest to hardest to kind of understand and do.

and i tried doing a different one from last week , the ones i did last week were : identify and questioning, obviously the easiest ones because i didn’t have much time left to think to hard about them.

29/8/24 T3 WK 6

for this week in reading i chose bobsleigh and the options were : figure skating , curling , biathlon , alpine skiing , ice hockey and bobsleigh which is the one i chose as I’ve already said and i’m onto the last create task! i need to go faster since tomorrow i wont have much time on the task board i think , that’s because tomorrow i have the winter sport tournament along with all the other year 5’s and 6’s.

on create task 2 i showed the options of boxes i could choose from, and now I’ve already done : identify , questioning and design. so this specific week i did design so I can’t do that again for sure , as for the others , i can do them but i have to try to do another. but since there’s not  much time left , i chose identify , i know i did that last week but i sincerely don’t know better options.

i honestly learnt a lot about bobsleigh since i didn’t even know that sport existed so the text i read told me a lot about it! to get to the text i had to press the little person on the sport i wanted to do.

there were 3 sources on each sport slide , i went on the bobsleigh slide and watched the videos and information sites  , the videos were about the sport itself and competitions that once happened , and one of them were about the history of bobsleigh , i read that and learnt a lot.

i needed to show what i learnt about bobsleigh through the create tasks and i tried my best to put a lot and enough information.

and for create task 3 , as you know i chose identify and for that i had to explain a problem that could or did occur for someone who is on a wheelchair. honestly there are many problems that could occur but i chose 1 problem to write about.

ice hockey reading create tasks T3 W5

19/8/24 , T3 W5.

so today we did book choices and read the text and watched the videos then we could start our create task 1! and i’m actually doing this at home!

our create task 1 was pretty easy to understand , there were two options A) story map, or B) flow chart. i chose the flow chart since the story map was easy but hard to understand at the same time cause it told us to write about a problem but i just decided to go with the flow chart. the flowchart was just write 6 facts about the sport we chose.

the WALT for the week is : compare and contrast within and between tasks.

there were 3 sources to go through to learn more about the sport , they were all about teaching us rules in the game and the history of ice hockey.

welcome to create task 2!

for create task 2 it was like last week, choose a box and do what it says . but something they did tell us was that they are in order from easiest to do / understand to the hardest.

so basically identify would be the easiest and create would be the hardest.  i chose questioning because it seemed like a fun and easy one to do.

the WALT this week is: compare and contrast within  and between tasks.

i chose ice hockey so i’m going to do questions about ice hockey , and pretend i don’t know anything about it.

it wasn’t much to do but i enjoyed it but also didn’t it was kind of hard to think of questions , especially because it says to try do a “how” or “why” question. but i had fun!

i wasn’t sure if i was supposed to do a question then answer it below but i guessed that probably not since the box said ” write 3 questions” only but tell me if we were supposed to. 🥲😝😼

this is my last create task for the week before fast finishers!

for once , i am able to do my create tasks extremely fast!

the WALT for this week is : compare and contrast within and between tasks.

create task 3 was basically create task 2 , choose one of the boxes but obviously not the same one as create task 2 and follow what the box is saying.

this time i chose :    identify and the options were: all of the ones below 😆

so if you can’t read then.. i can’t do anything but ill explain it the way i understood it for your brains 😝

so yeah i understood it like this: discover or makeup a problem that could occur when your on a wheelchair and playing ice hockey .  there’s many problems that could happen , even if your not on a wheelchair. oh and also we need to write what the could change that could fix this problem.

please let me know if you saw some spelling mistakes because my Chromebook isn’t telling me when it’s spelt wrong but i saw something spelt as soemthing because i was like typing fast and it didn’t tell me it was wrong 😿 anyway that’t it for create task 3 and for the reading create tasks for the week!

it’s Friday already AND

i was away Monday and Wednesday and then Thursday i had the slay tournament!

so in conclusion i only had Tuesday but since i’m actually slay i finished my first create task on Tuesday and as soon as i was going to blog they said it was lunchtime 🙃

there isn’t much to say since its the same exact create tasks. ( disappointment 🥲 )

but yeah , the WALT we can never skip 😝 , the WALT is : identify the main idea in a text.

for create task 1 we had to go onto one of those little sources that let you type , add pictures and be slay. for some reason i always do canva , probably because its the source i’m more familiar with.

and slay queen , i chose the sport athletics , the reason for that is because i thought it’d be the easiest to do . just kidding, its because i like running but not all the time and the book seemed fun!

anyway as you can see the description , there is not much to talk about as I’ve already said. so please don’t comment for me to write more cause I CAN’T , and i need to get to my other create tasks bro.

its the 16th of august and in my opinion life is going slay!

Gymnastics create tasks!

hello people , welcome to my create task 1!

it’s Monday in a new week! and I did book choices last week! i chose Gymnastics because it’s a sport i once did and it was fun , just not really meant for me! the other choices of sport were , soccer , beach volleyball , tennis , athletics , swimming and gymnastics and i already did beach volleyball and i wanted to do soccer but a teacher in Ruru said it wasn’t an option anymore because there weren’t enough teachers aids and other teachers to read with us 😿

the WALT for this week is the same as last week! : skim read to locate specific information

for this create task 1 we had to the same as last week! i can’t complain because the task were fun and easy after I realized what i had to do! so what we had to do was go onto a site they had linked in the learning site which i always choose canva 🥲 then we had to do what , where , who and obviously answer truthfully about the sport  😼  then add some pictures and obviously embed it then your pretty much done!

and i’m slay so i finished it on the same day i started it 😻

in case you don’t know what gymnastics is , you need to go back to kindergarten 🙂 but if you don’t know i will remind you , its a sport for both women and men , you need to be skillful and flexible to be able to do the tricks and movements they do!

anyway this is  my create task 1 all finished!

before anything we must not forget the WALT which it is: skim read to locate specific information!  i hope you found that VERY VERY VERY helpful!

anyway for create task 2 this week it is the same as last week because i’m pretty sure that these create tasks last 2 weeks! but i’ll explain the process , we had to choose one of the boxes that are on one of the slides! ( i’m not sure if we’re allowed to choose the same ones as last weeks but i’ll try choose different ones!! this time ill put in a screen shot of the options we could choose from:

and as I’ve already said i chose the create shoe one and the appraise the sport one last week 😝

so for create task 2 i will choose appraise the sport again , i’m sorry🙃

for create task 3 we had to not do   much ( thank you teachers for making them easy   😝 ) but yeah we had to do the same as create task 2 but choose different boxes ( obviously ) 😸

so anyway the WALT is skim read to locate specific information. what a shock 😍

and the box i wanted to choose was to make some shoesies for the sport you chose and i chose gymnastics so how the heck- so then i decided to do this box! it was the next easiest thing in my opinion 🙃

  but instead of explaining an actual problem that occurred and how they fixed it i’m going to do one that i completely made up so basically it’d be a problem that could occur but i believe it hasn’t but it might’ve because gymnastics goes a long way back to the ancient Greeks😝

anyway the moral of all of this is : gymnastics is a good sport 🤪 just kidding , but it is a good sport. the moral of this is explaining and stuff is i’m trying to tell you that i chose the box : identify a problem that occurred and stuff , you know. but anyway enough of that , i’m about to present you create task 3!

term 3 week 3 create task

hello!  8/8/24

it’s week 3 of term 3. it’s already august! everything is going so fast.

and for this week i chose the book “get ready to roll!”

that book explains the wheelchair rugby , a sport that is played in the Paralympics .

and sadly , Wednesday , ( aka  yesterday ) reading was replaced with winter sport practice 😭🫰

but actually winter sport practice was fun .

but still , i didn’t get to do my create tasks.

so , this is create task 1 complete! obviously create task 1 is the same as the other two weeks , ( teachers please change them but still make them fun and easy🥹 )

for create task 1 we had to: go into one of the sources provides such as Pixton or Canva , obviously i chose Canva 😼 and then we had to write down the answers to the questions we were supposed to ask ourselves , like WHAT is the sport or WHERE did it originate and put in lots of information.

in my opinion , i found it very fun and interesting to learn about this type of stuff like the Paralympics and see how far some people have come , even when they have disabilities.

and , last thing “WOO, you GO UK” ( in the Olympics” and if you’re like , what the sigma , why do you want the UK to slay the day away , its because my class got the UK for the medal counting or whatever you call it 🥲
